Rally Report from Christine

Beautiful site set between Ashborne and Leek.

A warm welcome from marshals Pete and Sue.
Tea and cake served, information given about the site rules and facilities.
An evening get together, drinks and nibbles hosted by Pete and Sue.

Rain, rain, rain but, not put off by it, Arthur and I decided to take the bus into Leek. Appropriately named town considering the weather. Rain rain rain. We found the markets and some quirky little shops.
Fish and chips for evening meal but due to you know what(!) all decided to enjoy them in the comfort of their own vans.
A little gossip got around that Barrie had had a leak in his caravan! His seat was all wet and his trousers were too! And that he dried them with the hairdryer. Most of us thought it could have been the rain!

Boules competition! and guess what? – it was dry.
But we had no grass. Barrie found a spot of flat stoney ground that had been trampled flat.
It was a tough competition especially as the final was between husband and wife Eileen and Barrie.
Eileen won! Welldone!!
Katie brought scones and jam with clotted cream. Absolutely delicious, thank you Katie.
In the evening we all had a barbecue together.
Good food, good company.
Sue gave us a quiz which all found amusing, and that was won by Pete and Ann.

Flag and raffle.
Sunday evening we went for a meal to the Jarvis Arms. It was a lovely drive over the peaks. On behalf of all non drivers I would like to thank you for the lift.

Take care see you all soon.
